Senator Manny Pacquiao allocated his birthday funds for the victims of Typhoon Odette.
The strength of Typhoon Odette (Rai in the international name) urged a lot of preparations from the government and the rescue authorities. Many people were evacuated before the entry of the tropical storm to prevent further risks. The said natural calamity caused a lot of damages in different areas across the nation.
Many families were left homeless by Typhoon Odette as several houses were destroyed by strong winds and some were damaged due to uprooted trees. A lot of people lost their source of living as well.
This December, presidential aspirant and Sen. Manny Pacquiao turned 43 years old. Instead of holding a huge celebration, the boxer-turned-senator allocated his birthday funds for the victims of Typhoon Odette.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Manny Pacquiao is also cutting the number of his beneficiaries in Sarangani and General Santos City. It is already his tradition to give food and cash to some 5,000 people in GenSan and Sarangani during his birthday.
According to the boxer-turned-senator, instead of giving food packs and cash to 5,000 people, he is cutting down the number of beneficiaries to 2,000 to help more victims of Typhoon Odette. Based on the report, he gave the food packs and cash to the indigent families at Labangal Elementary School where he graduated elementary.

The Presidential Aspirant stressed that giving cash is important as some people might need money to buy milk, medicine, or materials for the house repair. He said that giving food is okay but adding cash to it is better.
Reportedly, the camp of the Senator confirmed that they have already sent the relief goods to the victims of Typhoon Odette. They are planning to visit Leyte, Caraga Region, and Cagayan de Oro.
