Legendary fighter Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring to take on undefeated American Errol Spence at welterweight in Las Vegas later this month
Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao will face unified welterweight champion Errol Spence at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday August 21.
The Filipino will return to the ring for the first time since his victory over Keith Thurman back in 2019, and will need to be at his best to record a victory as he is set to come into the clash as underdog against an in-form opponent.
Spence has been in action more recently recording a unanimous decision victory over Danny Garcia back in December 2020, and is chasing the chance to become a legend in the sport by defeating one of it’s modern greats in Pacquiao in his home country.
Pacquiao looked set to face Conor McGregor last year after the pair held negotiations for a crossover fight into the ring with the Irishman switching from the UFC but they broke down after he instead elected to return to the cage and take on Dustin Poirier.
His American opponent has been consistently linked with a unification clash with fellow top domestic star Terence Crawford at 140 pounds, but the fight has never materialised despite verbal exchanges between the pair during their time competing in a stacked division.
However Spence is now set to achieve his goal of competing in a ‘mega-fight’ with the contest shaping up to be one of the most anticipated global sporting events of the year.

Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence billed as ‘generational showdown’ will take place on Saturday August 21, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The pair will meet for the first time in the native country of Spence, but hold familiar territory for Pacquiao after he has fought against the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya in the city.
