Mike Tyson

WWE Legend Calls Himself the Mike Tyson of Wrestling: “I Just Squished Motherf****, That’s My Job”

Boxing may have never been the same without the legendary Mike Tyson. He is a former heavyweight world champion. ‘Iron Mike’ still holds the record of being the youngest heavyweight boxing champion in history, winning his first heavyweight title at the age of 20. Moreover, he won a lot of his professional matches by knockout and was extremely dominant in his prime.

Due to his illustrious boxing career, Mike Tyson became a worldwide celebrity.

Perhaps equally dominant in pro-wrestling was Goldberg. The WWE Hall of Famer has won multiple World Championships in WWE and WCW. He has been part of some of the biggest moments in wrestling history, including The Monday Night Wars.

In fact, Goldberg was one of the major reasons behind WCW being a threat to WWE back in the late 1990s. He had this different intensity that no one else possessed at his time. Moreover, Goldberg had a long winning streak, where he dominated his opponents in most of his matches, akin to Mike Tyson, so much so that Goldberg thinks he is the wrestling version of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet.’

Recently, Goldberg appeared on Dr. Beau Hightower’s YouTube channel and commented on what inspired his character. He spoke about how his first run in WWE was affected by him fighting for WCW during The Monday Night Wars.

Goldberg said – “I think what has made me successful and also made me hated is the thing that is the determining factor. I was the Mike Tyson of wrestling. My goal was to be something completely different. Black tights, black shoes, I didn’t frickin’ talk for six months. I just squished moth*kers. That’s my job, that’s what I do. That’s what I did.”

Mike Tyson is a big fan of wrestling and has made memorable appearances in professional wrestling promotions. Moreover, he appeared in WWE during the Monday Night Wars. In 1998, Tyson got into a program with Stone Cold Steve Austin. He became the special ring enforcer at WrestleMania XIV in a match between Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin.

However, Mike played a huge role in the match as he did a fast count on HBK that helped Austin win the WWE Championship. ‘The Austin Era’ began that night and Mike Tyson was at the center of one of wrestling’s biggest moments.
