The Undertaker Hints He’d Refuse To Return If Vince McMahon Asked

The Undertaker says he might not be persuaded to return to the ring even if Vince McMahon asks.

The Undertaker’s special relationship with WWE chairman Vince McMahon might not be enough to pull him back into the ring if it ever comes down to the latter asking.

The wrestling icon will be honored in a Final Farewell segment this Sunday as he looks to close the curtains on his career at Survivor Series, the very PPV he made his debut on 30 years ago.

Despite all that’s been said in the buildup to the affair, fans still aren’t sure the retirement will be real or actually just a setup for another angle. However, speaking to CBS Sports in a recent interview, Taker indicated this really is the end of the road for him, whether or not McMahon still has plans.

“You know, I have to deal not only with my thoughts and my conscience, but I also have to deal with Vince’s thoughts and his conscience,” he said. “A lot of times, they’re not always on the same page. Vince’s line is, ‘You never say never.’ But where I’m at, I don’t see myself getting to a point where I’m going to be physically better in a couple of years than I am now.

“I’m going to be a couple of years older and a couple of years slower. So yeah, I mean, I just don’t see it. Not in the capacity where I’m going to get in the ring and actually work. Whether I have some sort of role, that’s a different thing, but my days in the ring I think are long gone now.”

Doubt Will Continue To Loom

Of course, doubt will continue to loom over Taker’s future. This is WWE after all.

He’s done a number of interviews ahead of Survivor Series and maintains that’s really it for him. But he did hint his story with Kane might not be over just yet in a recent sit down with his former tag partner.

Kane is rumored to be one of those who will be on hand for the Final Farewell so let’s see what happens.
