Sky Look Set To Close A Deal For Anthony Joshua’s TV Rights

Sky Sports look set to close on a deal for Anthony Joshua’s UK television rights as the Brit edges ever closer to a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

With multiple leading broadcasters, including DAZN, Sky Sports and Amazon looking to land the lucrative signature of the heavyweight superstar, it appears that Sky Sports, who had come to the end of a previous 5 fight deal with Joshua, are now the frontrunner to secure the rights to air his fights once again, according to Chris McKenna.

After penning a promotional deal that covered the rest of his career with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, who now feature exclusively on DAZN, it was slated that the Watford-native could move to the platform, especially with their launch of a new pay-per-view arm to the streaming service.

However, with Sky Sports having covered every one of ‘AJ’s’ professional fights, it is believed the former unified champion is seemingly set on staying the same brand.

Speaking to Boxing Social, SkySports Head of Boxing Adam Smith has shared his confidence that the former unified heavyweight champion would stick with SkySports:

“At the moment we don’t have a contract with Anthony Joshua, so, you know, we are out of contract as you know. I’m very confident that [A deal] will happen in time and we will work with him”
