WWE legend The Undertaker has phobia of cucumbers and wife Michelle McCool has finally revealed why

The Undertaker is one of the most intimidating WWE superstars of all time – but even the Dead Man has his fears.

For years now, there has been an urban myth surrounding the Hall of Famer with claims he has a phobia of cucumbers and now his wife Michelle McCool has confirmed the rumours, and revealed exactly where it comes from.

She noted the fear is a legitimate one, which comes after he once ate so much that he was sick and he was never able to face the vegetable again.

She told the Wives of Wrestling podcast: ‘He ate so many cucumbers one day that he got sick. And ever since then, it was just game over.’

In a brilliantly wholesome twist, ‘Taker and McCool’s daughter Kaia Faith loves to wind up her famous dad and has a lot of fun hiding cucumbers around the house to scare him.

‘We can’t even have one in the room. Every birthday, [daughter] Kaia gets cucumbers. She’ll like put them under his pillow, she’ll put them in his car,’ she added. ‘Cucumbers, he can’t even smell them… can’t even be around it.’

The Phenom has tried to play down his fear in the past, insisting he isn’t frightened of them – but Michelle clearly thinks otherwise.

‘Okay let’s get this straight… I’m not scared of cucumbers. I just don’t like cucumbers, okay,’ he previously told the Pardon My Take podcast. ‘I’ll probably leave the room, but I’m not gonna run… If they’re whole, that’s one thing. But if they’re cut up…’

His late manager Paul Bearer claimed he once claimed he saw the former world champion vomit ‘all over a waffle house’ because he spotted a slice in his drink.

‘He cannot stand cucumbers… I saw The Undertaker throw up all over a waffle house because there was a cucumber floating in his iced tea,’ he said. ‘It was something to do with when he was a kid … I guess his mother made him eat them when he didn’t want them, or something.’

Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April in his home state of Texas, thankfully without a cucumber in sight.

After a career spanning speech – which was delayed by a near-10 minute ovation from a packed crowd – Undertaker looked set to leave before donning his classic hat and coat.

With a look to the camera, he simply said, ‘Never say never,’ teasing the possibility of one more match.
