Tyson Fury drags Anthony Joshua into row with Derek Chisora over third fight

World heavyweight champion Fury wants to have one more fight with long-time pal Chisora, and has taken to social media to push for the bout despite claiming to be retired

Tyson Fury has told Derek Chisora to have Anthony Joshua contact their manager in order to have a trilogy fight made.

World heavyweight champion Fury is constantly flip-flopping on his decision to retire from boxing, claiming on different occasions that he would only fight for either £500million in an undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk or free if it meant facing Joshua in the UK. But he now appears to want to offer Chisora a trilogy bout, as he promised late last year in his retirement plan.

And he believes that the man who can make the deal is David ‘KD’ Ghansa, who runs Joshua and Chisora’s 258 Management team. Fury took to Instagram yesterday to send a number of messages to his former opponent, telling him to accept the fight and calling out KD as Joshua’s ‘bag handler’.

“Get KD, Joshua’s bag carrier to call me and let me get this deal ironed out like I’m going to iron you out,” Fury declared in a video tagging Chisora on his Instagram story. “Not a problem, two seconds, bang, done.”

He was following up a previous message to Chisora where he had said: “This one goes out to Derek ‘The s***house’ Chisora; you’re running Derek, from the trilogy, you call yourself ‘War’ but you should call yourself chicken because you’re running from the trilogy and from a career-high pay day. Get that f***ing contract signed.”

Fury and Chisora had developed a friendship after their two battles, the last of which was in 2014 when Chisora was stopped. Both of their battles were for the British heavyweight titles, but this one would now be for world honours after Fury’s rise to the top of the sport.

Ghansa, who goes by the nickname KD, responded to Fury’s message by sharing a message declaring that the only bags he handles look like ones full of money. He also showed a photo of a FaceTime call between he and Fury, indicating that talks are underway.

Fury and Chisora’s friendship ended when the heavyweight picked against the champion in his latest bout with Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium. The pair were very close, but have since fallen out and could now be heading towards a December fight.
