It’s quite common for many celebrities to have feuds and conflicts with fellow celebrities in the entertainment industry. One such feud that made waves was between the actors George Clooney and Russell Crowe. The feud basically began because of Crowe’s disrespectful behavior towards Clooney and two Hollywood legends, Harrison Ford and Robert De Niro.
Clooney vowed to never work with him after Crowe picked a fight with him. Their feud began back in 2005 after Crowe called George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Robert De Niro “sellouts” for working with big brands.
Russel Crowe fired shots at George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Robert De Niro
Back in 2005, actor Russel Crowe appeared for an interview with The Guardian. During the interview, he attacked George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Robert De Niro. He said,
“I don’t do ads for suits in Spain like George Clooney or cigarettes in Japan like Harrison. I mean, Robert De Niro advertising American Express? Gee whiz, it’s not the first time he’s disappointed me. Making an ad is a contradiction of the f****ng social contract with the audience.”
George Clooney was definitely not happy about it and vowed to never work with the Gladiator star again.

George Clooney called Russel Crowe Frank Sinatra’s wannabe
Roughly 8 years after Crowe’s interview, George Clooney addressed their feud. In an interview with Esquire magazine in 2013, Clooney said Russel Crowe is Frank Sinatra’s wannabe. He said,
“He picked a fight with me. He started it for no reason at all. He put out this thing saying, ‘George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Robert De Niro are sellouts.’ I put out a statement saying, ‘He’s probably right and I’m glad he told us, ’cause Bob and Harrison and I were also thinking about starting a band, which would also fall under the heading of bad use of celebrity.’ That’s when he really went off on me. ‘Who the f**k does this guy think he is? He’s a Frank Sinatra wannabe.’ He really went after me and so I sent him a note going, ‘Dude, the only people who succeed when two famous people are fighting is PEOPLE magazine. What the f**k is wrong with you?’”
Frank Sinatra was an iconic American singer, actor, and producer. He is believed to be one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century and a cultural icon.

Did the two celebrities end their feud?
In 2006, George Clooney and Russel Crowe met at the 2006 Golden Globes. Clooney talked about the incident,
“Then I had a year. Then I had Syriana and Good Night and Good Luck. He was gonna see me at the Golden Globes ’cause he was nominated for Cinderella Man. So he sends me a disc of his music and a thing of his poetry. I think he said, ‘I was all misquoted,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah. Whatever.’ I did take it with me to the BAFTAs, but I didn’t win. I might have used it if I had won. I was nominated for four!”
At the time, it was believed that the two have ended their feud but Clooney’s 2013 statements make it seem like he is still not over it.
