Another fan mourned the death of Salvador “Sal” Sánchez who died tragically in a car accident back in 1982. He stated, “Salvador was taken way too early from us. He definitely would’ve been the greatest of em all.”

Meanwhile, one fan downplayed Alvarez’s achievement and pointed out that he fought against “a fighter going up 2 weight divisions”.

Someone else pointed out that this news is going to make Marquez “have a very bitter week”. Moreover, he claimed that with this he’ll have “more reasons to hate Canelo”.

However, not all comments were negative, one fan called Alvarez “the greatest Mexican fighter ever.”
